Catechesis

• Catechesis will begin on Sunday, September 27th, 2026, held 9:45-10:45am in the Parish Center. The schedule for the entire year can be found below.
• All families with school-aged children (4 and up) should register for Catechesis at St. John’s. Families with children under the age of four are welcome to attend Whole Family Catechesis.
• Fee: $40 per child, $60 per family (multiple children over age 4). You can pay online after you complete your registration, or if you prefer, you may bring a check to the first catechesis class.

This year, we’ll be using Flocknote as our primary way of staying connected. All families—whether new or returning—will begin by updating their household information through Flocknote.

Here’s what to do:

1. Go to this link: https://mountaineercatholic.flocknote.com/register
2. If you are new to the parish, please enter your family information.
3. If you are already in our system, please confirm that your information is correct.
4. Once your information is entered or updated, you’ll be able to sign up for catechesis right there in Flocknote.

This new system will help us keep everything in one place, keep our kids safe and accounted for, and ensure you get timely reminders and updates throughout the year.

If you have a child between ages 3-5, you may register for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). CGS is a world-renowned, hands-on opportunity that offers the child experiences of contemplation and enjoyment of God in a space that is specially prepared for children called the Atrium. We are blessed to have this unique program continuing at St. John’s this year under the leadership and direction of Kait Patterson. Our CGS year will begin in the Fall and continue until May. **Registration for CGS will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, as space is extremely limited.

Families who homeschool and provide religious education at home may continue to do so, but we ask that you register so that we can keep you in the loop on parish events and catechetical opportunities for children and adults.
